I’m teaching myself software development and recording my experiences along the way.

My educational background is in the social sciences, but I have been drawn towards writing code since my Master’s degree, where I found myself using R to wrangle data.

Later, while I was collecting data for another school project, I wrote my own wrapper around a popular, lower-level API for fetching Reddit data.

During that experience, I learned that I really enjoy learning about code and then applying my knowledge to create solutions. In my current role as a research coordinator, I write code to create custom logic to meet complex requirements for surveys (I still make scripts to wrangle data too).
